It’s not all about cars at the Essen Motor Show
Oldtimers and Classic Cars are still popular at the Essen Motor Show, which is due 28 November – 6 December 2009.
The suppliers in the “Oldtimers & Classic Cars” section registered brisk demand in 2008. In particular, vehicles which have been outstandingly restored or have been preserved in the original condition were popular.
Two of the oldest cars exhibited at the Essen Motor Show 2008 found new lovers – and buyers – at prices varying between Euros 40,000 to 55,000.
Both vehicles originated from 1911, a Ford T Tourabout with 20 hp and a top speed of 60 km/h and a Panhard & Levassor Landaulette with a 15 hp engine.
No fewer than two vehicles set off on a long journey. Two Indian collectors acquired not only a Porsche GT3 RS, but also a Mercedes 300 SL Roadster from 1958.
