Le Mans Classic
The biennial and 5th Le Mans Classic will be a moving theatre from Friday to Sunday 9-11 July 2010, where the Bugatti and 24H Le Mans Classic circuits will be crowded with activities.
More than 100 Clubs will be covering some 180 hectares and bringing about 7,000 cars of over 50 different makes, which is a retrospective display in itself.
In ‘the Village’ you can visit two exhibitions, ’Le Mans Heritage Club’ and the ‘Supercar Enclosure’, but there will also be plenty of boutiques and stands. The Le Mans Heritage Club will host 24 different cars that once entered the Le Mans 24H event, the oldest being a 3 litres Aries from 1927.
Most interesting to watch are the club and manufacturer parades, or you can book yourself a reconaissence lap of the 24H Le Mans circuit in a vintage bus. There are different busses available and even a mini-train. Or perhaps you would want to overview the 13,6km long circuit from a helicopter.
The paddocks are open to visit between racing and under the warm July sky the atmosphere is incredible. When visiting the paddocks, be aware though, that in order to be admitted, you must respect the period dress code.
The happy holders of the “Privilege Package” are offered their unique area for relaxing and resting, without missing one minute of the show thanks to an exceptional viewing location. A personalised welcome upon arrival in the VIP car park and a lift to the ‘Privilege Area’, where an open bar and catering facilities are offered.
And then there is the motor racing and that of course is what this event is all about in the end. Six grids covering six different periods, Grid #1 1923-1939, Grid #2 1949-1956, Grid #3 1957-1961, Grid #4 1962-1965, Grid #5 1966-1971 and Grid #6 1972-1979, from a 1923 3 litres Bentley to a 1979 Ferrari 512 BBLM.
All grids are fully booked, presenting 65-69 cars per grid. This event is dedicated to cars and motor racing, but also to respect of both history and beauty.
