Hockenheim Historic

Lotus cars will be traditionally well represented during the Hockenheim Historic “In Memory of Jim Clark”.

The 7th Hockenheim Historic “In Memory of Jim Clark” will be organized 15-17 April 2011 at the Hockenheimring (GER). The Hockenheim Historic continues to remember  the tragic death of Jim Clark, one of the all time greats in F1 history.

This year it will be 43 years ago that the legendary Jim Clark was killed in a F2 race at Hockenheim in his Lotus Cosworth FVA. Until today the cause of the accident has never been revealed.

How appropriate to invite the “Historic Formula 2” as well as the “FIA Lurani Trophy” to the Hockenheim Historic, the latter being the popular entry level class from 1959-63 with the very light Formula Junior cars with engine sizes of up to 1,000ccm.

The Hockemheim Historic will see a number of highlights this year, one of them the première of the presentation of historic racing car trucks and racing services in the very centre of the Hockenheim paddock. Visitors of the Hockenheim Historic will be invited back to the paddock ambiance of the 60’s and 70’s.

Other highlights will be the “FIA Historic Formula One” and its counterpart the “Boss GP”.  The “Race History on Track” association will present Formula cars from six decades, with famous F1 race car manufacturers, such as Brabham, Ferrari, Lotus, March and Toyota being present.

Hockenheim Historic will be the first European historic motor sport event presenting six different Formula racing series. In this way, Hockenheim Historic more than lives up to the expectations of an event in remembrance of Jim Clark. Afterall the Scotsman achieved his most prolific successes in various Formula types.

Legendary race drivers and known motorsport personalities will once again meet in this extraordinary setting. The diehard Lotus fans can look forward to a specially designated Lotus Club area.
