Vintage Revival Montlhéry

Thierry CHANOINE (F), here seen at Monaco, will race his 6cyl. Riley Dobbs 1935, with Riley TT Sprite chassis in the Vintage Revival Montlhéry 2011.

The Vintage Revival Montlhéry will be a magnificent weekend at the legendary circuit of Linas-Montlhéry, south of Paris. Vintage Revival Montlhéry 2011 will be organized in the weekend of 7-8 May and the weather forecast is predicting blue skies.

What more could you wish for, other than to see a spectacular number of pre-1940 vehicles on and off track. Imagine some 250+ sports cars, racing cars, motorcycles, cycle cars and three-wheelers from that era, participating in all kinds of competitions and representing vintage racing and ambiance in its purest form. And if this would not be enough, you’ll find a similar number of pre-1940 vehicles on display in the parking lot.

The heritage of the parisien Autodrome Linas-Montlhéry is unsurpassed and therefore the French top location to organize such event.

Vincent Chamon (a vintage enthusiast) and Laurent Poulain (a great fan of the Autodrome Linas-Montlhéry), discovered that the Montlhéry event calendar did not include one real pre-war event preserving  our motoring heritage . It was therefore decided to found the “Association Vintage Revival” under honorary presidency of Mrs Jacqueline POTHERAT (F), widow of the late Jacques POTHERAT, journalist, writer, photographer, collector, specialist of vintage cars and in particular british tricycles, who died of a nervous disease in 2001.

The Association Vintage Revival, which is now the organizer of the  Vintage Revival Montlhéry, brings together enthusiasts and clubs with their cars for a closed event at the Autodrome Linas-Montlhéry in Goodwood style, embracing vintage runs on the circuit, period clothing and even demonstrations on the track by vintage bicycles behind pace “car” motorcycles.

You’re invited to join them for a trip into history, whether on the circuit, in the vintage park or simply as a spectator. Be aware though that tickets can only be bought in advance and through their website.
